Am I the only person who was bothered by McCain in the debates labeling women's health as an "extremist" position? Regardless of how one feels about abortion (and I think most reasonable people on both sides have mixed feelings), most feel that abortion should be permitted when the mother's health is in danger. For McCain to call this "extremist" is deeply troubling.

No, I thoroughly agree. I find a lot of the backhanded comments made by McCain and (especially) Palin appalling.
But then, I don't think we get to call it extremism until we are coming up with gendered apartheid or worse ideas. :)
At least it's frustrated extremism... for now...
